Welcome to math class with Ms. Harutunian. Everything we learn this year will be preparation for high school and beyond!

HOW TO DO WELL IN THIS CLASS
• Be present and participate (I cannot help you learn if you are not here and participating in class)
• Complete classwork assignments on time
• Retake benchmark tests so you are proficient on all of them through the year
• Bring supplies every day
• Communicate with Ms. H (let me know what’s up and I will work with you)
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Middle school math is a mix of Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry – everything you could hope for to make sure you’re ready for high school math. You will also learn how to be a team player to think critically and problem solve. You will also develop amazing study skills that you can keep with you and use for the rest of your life!

GRADES: 90%-100%=A BREAKDOWN: Tests and projects = 50% of total grade
80%-89%=B Classwork / Quizzes = 30% of total grade
70%-79%=C Homework = 10% of total grade
60%-69%=D Supplies = 10% of total grade
59% and below=F
NOTICE OF GRADES: Mid-Quarter Progress Reports and End of Quarter Report Cards will be sent home in the mail. Please check to ensure that your mailing address is correctly on file with the school. These reports serve as an official notice of student grades. Log in to Engrade.com with student code to check grades online.
Please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Harutunian to check in on a child’s progress at any time, particularly if you have not received grades in the mail.
ABSENT WORK (excused absences)
Students are responsible for getting work they missed and completing it within 1 week from the day they return. Full credit will be given. Make-up tests and quizzes must be scheduled for lunchtime or afterschool.
