Discussions
The discussion feature is a public forum on Engrade. The content posted in a discussion can be viewed by all members of a class including parents and admins. Both Teachers and students can participate in open discussions from their accounts and attach wikis, flashcards and files. Parents and admins can contribute to open discussions with a reply. Discussions will automatically be attached to assignments unless the teacher chooses not to add the assignment to class discussions.New Assignments
When adding a new assignment, the teacher has the option of including it in the class discussion. This option can be found under More options....
This feature is always checked when creating a new assignment, so those teachers who do not want to open a discussion will have to uncheck this box for each assignment.
You can only turn off the discussion feature when creating a new assignment. To remove a discussion from an existing assignment, you would need to remove the assignment, including all of the scores, comments and turn-ins.
Accessing Discussions
To begin a new class discussion, click on Discussions under the More menu.
The next screen will show all of the open discussions. Here a teacher will be able to start a new discussion by clicking on + New Discussion.
Discussions can be deleted from this screen as well.
