New Features
In our continuing mission to provide you with the best online classroom management tools, we've added dozens of new features. We hope you enjoy these upgrades and that they help you as an educator.
Quizzes
Our new quiz feature both saves you time and engages your students. You can now create quizzes on Engrade using the Quizzes link at the very top of the page. Once you build your quiz you can assign it to a class where students will be able to take it when they log in. Their answers will be automatically graded and - with the push of a button - you can save the quiz as an assignment in the gradebook.Flashcards
Flashcards lets you quickly create a question-answer set that can help students memorize vocabulary. See example flashcards here.Discussions
Your classes now have a new link on the left marked Discussions where you and your students can converse. By default students are allowed to reply to your topics, but NOT allowed to post new topics. To allow students to post topics, select that option in your class's Settings page.
Edit Assignment Scores for a Single Student
Now when you click a student's name in your gradebook you'll see an editable report of his/her assignment scores. Simply click on a score to edit it as you would in the gradebook.
You can now leave comments for each assignment as well! Just click to the left of each assignment score to enter a short note.
Change Student IDs
Previously in Engrade you could not change a students ID number without losing his/her existing class data (such as assignment scores), but now you can easily change any students ID by clicking Class > Students > then click the Edit button next to a given student's name.Improved Lessons/Wikis
We launched a "wiki" feature in August that allows teachers to build online class documents and allow other teachers and/or students to edit it. Since then we've renamed this feature to "Lessons" and made it easier to add things like images and videos. You can create lessons for your classes by clicking the Lessons link at the very top of the page. When you create a lesson you'll be able to attach it to assignments or calendar entries in your classes in the "Attach..." drop down box on the create assignment page. You can also attach lessons to your class using the class's Attached link on the left. Explore other teachers lessons at http://lessons.engrade.comAttach Lessons and Files to Messages
Now both teachers and students can attach files to messages sent on Engrade. This is a great and easy way to have students turn in homework or for you to send out an assignment.Admin Grade Reports
Click the Grades link on the left in your school to see a breakdown of student performance. Click on any performance category of students to view the students in that category.
Improved Admin Printing & Exporting
The new Print tab in your school's profile allows you to print customizable grade reports and allows you export all student grades to CSV.Teacher Student Performance Graphs
Hover over Options within your gradebook and then select Performance from the drop down to view Student Performance graphs by class or category.
