Step 1. Create an Admin Account

The first step to creating a school on Engrade is to create a personal admin account. This account will be your personal account so the username and contact information should be for specific to you, not your school. A username such as mrsmith would be appropriate. Sign up for an admin account at: http://www.engrade.com/user/signup-school.php

Step 2. Create a School Profile

Once you've created an Admin account, you will be able to create a profile for your school. Enter your school's information.

Step 3. Add Existing Teachers

Teachers with existing Engrade accounts can join your school by entering your school's SECRET school code. You can find the code in your admin account by clicking on the school, then clickingTeachers on the left.

Teachers can enter that code by:
1. Logging into their accounts
2. Hovering their mouses over the Account link in the blue bar at the top of the page
3. Clicking Schools from the menu.
4. Entering the school code in the field and clicking Submit

Step 4. Adding New Teachers

You can easily create Engrade accounts for teachers at your school who are not yet registered by clicking the Create New Teachers button at the top of the Teachers page in your admin account. These teachers will get an email that includes their Engrade username and password.

Step 5. Adding Students

When you or your teachers create classes, always use the same ID number for a given student in all classes for all teachers. Using the same ID number allows Engrade to assign that student a single access code yourschool-studentid-xxxx, where the xxxx part is a four-digit security code automatically generated by Engrade. Make sure to NEVER RE-USE ID NUMBERS FOR DIFFERENT STUDENTS or students will be able to see each others' grades.
