Student ID Numbers
The most important aspect of Engrade is the student ID number. In order for students and parents to access grades properly, they must be entered with the correct ID number. Proper IDs are also vital to print progress reports. Most importantly, if a teacher assigns two students the same ID, they will be able to view each other's grades. Students assigned more than one ID will not see all of their classes.
All students should be entered with the school's ID number, which ensures all teachers within the school are using the same ID number for each student.

Same ID Number Used by Multiple Students
If students are viewing other classes of yours that they do not belong in, it is because you gave two different students the same ID number. Students should not be given the same ID numbers as other students in your other classes, all students must have unique ID numbers. If Jane Doe is assigned number 04 and William Johnson is assigned the same number, Engrade will recognize them as one student.
To prevent this from happening, we highly recommend you change your student's ID number to unique ones. To do so, just follow these steps:
1) Go to your class gradebook.
2) Click on Students from the left side menu.
3) Click the Edit button next to the desired student.
4) Change the student's ID as you wish.

Multiple ID Numbers Used by One Student
When a student has been assigned more than one ID number, they will appear on Engrade as multiple students (with the same name). This can result in a student being unable to see all of their classes when they log in, appearing more than once on the student list, and trouble when printing student reports, as well as an incorrect total number of students (when connected to a school). To fix this problem, choose one ID number for the student and follow steps 1 - 4. Replace the student ID with the chosen number. Note that changing this student's ID will automatically change their Access Code. If this student has already registered for Engrade, their account will be automatically updated with the new access code(s).
