Parts of a Book

1. Title Page

The following information is found on the title page of an illustrated book:
1. Title
2. Author
3. Illustrator

2. Table of Contents

The table of contents lists the titles of all the chapters, special sections, or other features of a book in the order in which they appear.

The table of contents also gives the beginning page number for each chapter or section.

It is like a road map for a book.

3. Index

The index lists subjects in alphabetical order and gives the page number(s) on which each subject can be found. Often, an index entry will offer a cross-reference, where a given topic may also be covered under a different heading.

4. Glossary

A glossary is like a short dictionary defining selected words as they appear within the context of the selections within.
