General Information for Math 7
Math 7 2011-2012
Tutoring: Every morning at 7:15 and afterschool on Monday and Thursday with prior approval.
Rework Policy: All quizzes and tests may be reworked for half the points back with a minimum grade of 70. The original must be signed, unchanged, and stapled to the rework. All reworks are done on a separate sheet of paper. The original problem must be copied and all work must be shown to receive credit. If the problem doesn't require work, a written explanation must be given for the correct answer. All reworks are due 3 school days after the original was returned. Late reworks will not be accepted.
Late Work Policy: 5 points deducted for everyday that the assignment is late up to 5 days. After 6 days, late work will not be accepted.
ALL tests will be signed and returned. This will count as homework grade.
Essentials are extra credit and are in the student agenda. Due dates are written on them. Students must show all work to receive the extra credit points. Since Essentials are extra credit they will not be accepted late.
Short quizzes will be given on a regular basis. They will be open book and notes. The problems will be very similar to homework problems.
Request for donations for auctions
July 19, 2011Dear Parents,
The Lions team will be using a monetary system this year in our classes. Each teacher will alter the system to best fit their classroom structure and curriculum. We will be covering writing checks and maintaining checkbook register. In math we will expand it to real estate, the stock market, filling out a job application and completing a job.
Students are either paid and/or have opportunities to earn money throughout the year. At the end of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter each class will have the opportunity to purchase items such as homework passes and lunch with friends outside. We are asking parents to donate other items such as movie size candy bars, chips, cool school supplies or anything your child might like. All 3 teachers will be holding an auction for 3 classes. At the end of the year we will have a big auction to include larger donated items such as $5 gift cards to various places, small stuffed animals, popular books, or anything else that you can think of. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. It will motivate the students and give them the opportunity to spend their hard earned classroom money for real goods.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call our email any of the Lions teachers.
Thank you very much for your generosity and support.
