Module 1 - The Basics
OBJECTIVES: (What you will be accountable to learn from this module)
1. Define atom, molecule and concentration
2. Differentiate between an atom and molecule
3. Identify and understand a chemical change
4. Identify units as a measurement of length, mass or volume
5. List quantities for metric prefixes
6. Convert units within the same system
7. Convert units between systems
8. Identify substances of a greater/less concentration
*If you are needing some math review, I would highly recommend using the free videos at Khan Academy. They are very visual and he is a fabulous instructor. Concepts are broken down in short videos so you can choose the ones that you may need. Scroll down the Khan Academy front page to see the videos available. You might occasional enjoy watching these for science topics as well, though most of the science topics are beyond the scope of our course.
