[h1]U.S. History[/h1] Welcome to U.S. History, undoubtedly one of my favorite subjects ever! Why do I enjoy history so much, it's about people, and I like people for the most part. History can teach us about both the strengths and weaknesses of those who've lived before us. If we're careful and observant, we can mimic their strengths while avoiding their mistakes. History is full of ordinary people, just like you and I, some accomplished a great deal and some, only a little. Either way it's a peek into their lives and what that looked like. Some say history is dull and boring and in some cases they would be right, when history is treated as a list of dates and people to be memorized for a test and forgotten once the test is over, yes it's dull. When you treat history as a great story with the thoughts and lives of real people, it takes on a life of it's own. My hope for you this year, is that the history of our nation will come alive for you and that the heroes you've always had will be seen as people just like yourself who have done extraordinary things.
