The "Who" Part of the Verb
Now let’s find out how to know who is causing something to happen. In order to know who is making things happen in English we add nouns (Tommy, the dog, my friend, the building etc.) or pronouns (I, you, he, we etc.).
Spanish has nouns and pronouns, too, of course, but often in Spanish they are used more for clarification, emphasis and variety. The person causing the action isn’t always stated because it is built into the verb form in the ending. The most common form of any verb is the s/he , it form:

The they form is the second most common form. When they are doing something, just add –n :

Notice that the ending on the English verb changed when we changed the person doing the action.
Since the pronouns are not always expressed they are in parenthesis. However, when pronouns are used they must match the verb ending to make sense. It would be confusing to say, “ella hablan” because ella means “she” and –n means “they.” We would not know who speaks.
These are the personal pronouns that match the “who” on the end of the verbs:
I = yo
you = tú (friendly), usted / ustedes (respectful)
he = él
she = ella
it (since every noun in Spanish is a he or a she, “it” is él or ella)
we = nosotros/nosotras
y’all = vosotros/vosotras
they = ellos, ellas
