High School Classroom Procedures

1. On the board at the front of the class, you will find a list of materials needed for the day's lesson. All textbooks required for the lesson will be found in the classroom. Get whichever books are needed and have a seat. Be sure to sit in your assigned seat every day.
2. You will see the daily warm-up on the board. These will either be writing or grammar lessons. They are to be started immediately and written in your composition book (which you must bring to class daily) with the date in the top right corner. You will have 8 minutes to finish before the new lesson begins.
3. If a student is tardy, they will receive no points for the daily warm-up.
4. Please do not talk during instruction. Always raise your hand if before asking or answering a question; and feel free to ask questions!
5. Raise your hand to sharpen pencils, get paper or supplies, or to use the restroom.
6. Students should use the restroom BEFORE coming to class. Permission to leave the room for this reason will be granted on an emergency basis only. Please plan bathroom breaks accordingly.
7. Procedure for turning in homework: Each grade has an inbox where they should turn in homework assignments.
8. All homework is due at the beginning of class on the due date. I will accept late homework with no penalty provided the student had an excused absence on the date it was due. Any other reasons will result in a deduction in the scoring – one letter grade per day. Whenever possible, assignments may be turned in using engrade to avoid being late.
9. Students are to stay in their seats and continue working until the bell rings to release them. Do not put materials away until the bell rings.
10. Please clean up after yourself. Each class deserves the same clean and cheerful classroom that you enjoyed.
