The Present Unreal Conditional

What is the present unreal conditional?

The present unreal conditional has two clauses; the if clause and the result (main) clause. The if clause states the condition and the result clause states the result. We use the present unreal conditional when the cause is a an untrue, an impossible, or an imagined statement or idea(see page 66 in your book)

What are the causes in these two sentences? What are the effects?

How would you know about the homework if I didn't tell you about it?

If dog's didn't have tails, we wouldn't know if they were happy.

Using the correct verb tense

What are the verb tenses in these two examples?
